I'm Every Lesbian

I'm Every lesbian is a citywalk, a map and an audioguide that, in a first person narrative, presents parts of a place's lesbian history. Based on interviews with lesbians living in that specific place the citywalk tells both about the place's official lesbian history (laws regarding LGBTQI issues, social movements, significant manifestations etc.) but also focuses on personal stories of love, friendship and other relationships to reflect on how political and social movements affect the individual.

Telling these stories in the public space is a way to highlight lesbian history, which is often both overshadowed in normative history writing as well as in the LGBT context in which, privilieged white gay cis men has often taken space at the expence of lesbians and trans people.

During August/September 2013 I executed the project in Tirana, Albania as a part in an exhibition arranged by the Albanian LGBT organisation Aleanca LGBT and the Swedish organisation The Unstraight Museum. In November/December 2013 I executed the project in Belgrade, Serbia in conjunction with the BeFem festival, with support from IASPIS. During the spring of 2014 I conducted the project in Norrköping as part of Norrköping Pride and in collaboration with producer Nevena Cvijetic with support from Östsam. In the summer of 2014 I did it in Malmö as part of the exhibition A Voice of ones own at Malmö Konstmuseum in collaboration with Malmö Sommarscen. During the winter 2014 i conducted the project in Tensta in Stockholm comissioned by Tensta Konsthall and during the spring of 2015 I did a version for Boxholm in collaboration with Nevena Cvijetic. In the summer of 2016 I made a version of the project in Oslo commissioned by The Munch museum and curated by Natalie Hope O'Donnell.
